Router Setup

  1. Connect GL.iNET router to power using the provided Micro USB cable.

  2. Connect the Ethernet cable from existing internet access point into your internet router to the WAN port on the GL.iNET router.

  3. Connect your local computer to the GL.iNET router either

    1. by WiFi using GL.iNET access point “GL-MT300N-…”, or

    2. by Ethernet using the LAN port on

    your local computer
    1. GL.iNET router.

  4. Navigate to the admin page located at the address 192.168.8.1.

  5. Choose your preferred language.

  6. Set password.

  7. Navigate to Network > Network Mode and set the router to Access Point modeand click apply.

Or, in older UI to More Settings > Network Mode and set the router to Access Point modeand click apply.

  1. You are now be able to access the router from within your network and no longer need to connect to it directly.

  2. Verify that the device has internet access by using the device’s network diagnostics

Gateway Installation

Download the Gateway Package for GL.iNET.

To determine which version your device requires, navigate to https://<GLINET-IP>/cgi-bin/luci/ and look at the firmware version.

  1. Add GL.iNET router as Uplink Camera to VMS Platform using GL.iNET server’s serial number and MAC Address.

  2. Navigate to the software page of the Luci interface.

  3. You may need to update the package list by clicking “Update lists”. Search for and install the package libwebsockets-openssl in the available packages section . This may require an update to the package list.and click “Install”.

  4. Upload and install the cameraagent_<version>_mipsel_24kc.ipk package from the downloaded GLiNET package.

  5. Upload and install the luci-app-cameraagent_<version>_all.ipk package from the downloaded GLiNET package.

  6. Re-login to the Luci interface.

OpenWrt 19.07.8

  1. Add GL.iNET router as Uplink Camera to VMS Platform using GL.iNET server’s serial number and MAC Address.

  2. If Luci is not installed, navigate to http://GLiNET-IP/#/luci and install install Luci.

  3. Navigate to the software page of the Luci interface.

  4. Upload and install libwebsockets-openssl_4.3.2-3_mipsel_24kc.ipk package supplied in the GLiNET package.

  5. Upload and install cameraagent_1.0-1_mipsel_24kc.ipk

  6. Upload and install luci-app-cameraagent_1.0-1_all.ipk

  7. Re-login to the Luci interface.

Adding Gateway to Cloud VMS

  1. Add GL.iNET router as Uplink Camera to VMS Platform using GL.iNET server’s serial number and MAC Address.

Adding Cameras:

  1. Add Uplink Cameras to your Cloud VMS platform for each camera you are going to connect through the GL.iNET bridge. You’ll need the following information for each camera:

    1. Camera username.

    2. Camera password.

    3. Camera serial number (should be printed on a camera)

    4. Camera MAC address (should be printed on a camera)

  1. Navigate to the plugin interface: http://GLiNET-IP/cgi-bin/luci/admin/services/cameraagent and then navigate to the Camera Config tab

  2. After adding each camera to Cloud VMS, add the same camera

    Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save & Apply.

  2. Then navigate to http://GLINET-IP/cgi-bin/luci/admin/services/cameraagent/control and click ‘Start Camera Agent’ to start the application.
