VXG supports a variety of ways how to connect to cameras. Cameras can be connected directly to the Cloud our using an on-prem server called Cloud NVR (Network Video Recorder) or Cloud Gateway.

There 3 main types of connections:

  1. Firmware plug-in connection.

A camera with a VXG IP Camera Plug-in connects automatically to the Cloud in a plug-and-play manner.

2. Bridged connection

A camera is connected to an on-prem VXG Cloud NVR/Gateway using ONVIF/RTSP protocol and the Cloud NVR/Gateway connects automatically to the Cloud.

3. Direct ONVIF connection.

The Cloud uses a camera’s IP address to connect over the ONVIF/RTSP protocol.

Recording

  1. Cloud storage.

  2. On-prem Cloud NVR.

  3. Camera SD card.
