Use cases
VSaaS
SaaS companies offering video surveillance as a service integrated with custom-built or re-branded IP cameras.
The main characteristics:
Several indoor and outdoor camera models with custom firmware.
10,000+ cameras.
Rented cloud infrastructure (like AWS) or a dedicated data center.
Solution:
VXG will build a custom version of the camera’s firmware in cooperation with the camera manufacturer. This will make the camera fully plug-and-play.
VXG will integrate the Cloud VMS with the customer’s authentication service, web front-end, and mobile applications. VXG will help with integration with public and proprietary AI services.
Video analytics service
The main characteristics:
Customer deploys or already has edge devices on-prem.
Videos from IP cameras are processed by AI on the edge devices.
Metadata is pushed to the cloud and should be synchronized with images and clips.
Solution
Run VXG Cloud NVR/Gateway docker image on the edge device. It will manage cameras in the local network through ONVIF/RTSP. Live and recorded videos, image,s and clips for any camera can be retrieved using NVR/Gateway REST API for further AI processing at the edge.
The same live and recorded videos, images, and clips can be retrieved through the Cloud REST API, which is identical to NVR/Gateway REST API.
Metadata, images, and clips can be stored on the Cloud while streaming videos at the edge to reduce bandwidth consumption.
Monitoring centers
The main characteristics:
Connecting to a variety of different cameras.
1000+ cameras for monitoring.
Receiving events from cameras and video analytics.
Backward audio from the mic and pre-recorded audio files.
Solution
Use direct ONVIF connectivity where it is possible. Use camera plug-ins where opening ports or VPN connection is a challenge. Store clips and images associated with events on the Cloud for further verification and analysis.
Working with other VMS
VXG Cloud VMS is a complete VMS solution that provides cloud services for IP cameras.
At the same time, VXG can work in parallel with any 3-rd party VMS being just focused on providing additional cloud services such as cloud recording, streaming, or analytics. VXG connects to cameras directly and not through 3-rd party VMS, making the solution independent from 3-rd party VMS.
In some cases, customers will only need cloud services without VMS, for example when customers use free camera configuration tools like Hik-Connect. In this case, VXG will work in the background providing cloud services.
For example, for cloud recording, VXG will connect the cameras to Cloud object storage providers. Customers can then view the recorded videos in two different ways:
Using any object storage browsers. The storage has a simple self-explanatory structure and file objects are in a standard video format.
Using traditional VMS UI provided by VXG.
